What we do

Three things, done carefully

Most of our work begins the same way: someone needs to change a building, and nobody can find a drawing of it that is still true.

Measured building surveys

We attend site and take the dimensions ourselves — room by room, opening by opening — so the drawing set is built on measurements rather than assumptions.

As-built CAD documentation

Plans, elevations, sections and reflected ceiling plans issued as clean CAD files on a sensible layer structure, ready to be designed over.

Scan-to-CAD conversion

Already have point cloud data? We register it, slice it and trace it into dimensioned two-dimensional drawings you can actually use.

How a job runs

Measure, draw, issue

A survey is a sequence, and each step depends on the one before it. Here is the order we work in on every engagement.

  1. 01

    Scope and site access

    We agree what has to be drawn, to what level of detail, and what access is needed — tenanted floors, roof spaces and locked plant rooms are settled before we arrive, not on the day.

  2. 02

    On-site measure

    Dimensions, levels and openings are recorded on site with running dimensions and photographs, so every line in the final drawing can be traced back to something we actually measured.

  3. 03

    Draft, check, issue

    We draft in the studio, check the set against the site record, then issue CAD and PDF together. Queries during design are answered, and revisions are re-issued with a clear revision note.

The studio

A drawing studio, not a print shop

Measured Studio Pty Ltd is a small Victorian practice built around one job: producing an accurate, readable record of a building as it stands today.

We work for architects starting a renovation, builders pricing a fit-out, and owners who need to know what they actually have before they commit to anything. The buildings are mostly Melbourne's ordinary stock — terraces and workers' cottages, warehouse conversions, shopfronts, and mid-century brick offices — and almost none of them match the drawings on file.

Our deliverable is a set you can work in, not a scanned sketch. Consistent layers, real dimensions, and a note wherever something on site could not be verified.
